Shell confirmed as keynote speaker at the UK's Renewables Academy course in offshore wind
The UK Renewables Academy is delighted to announce that Shell shall be the keynote speaker covering floating turbine foundations, developments, differences, markets and issues for its four day offshore wind programme in September 2023.
Shell has more than 12 GW of offshore wind generation potential (including capacity in operation, under construction and in the funnel of future projects) in their portfolio across Europe, North America, and Asia. This includes 2.5GW Shell share of floating offshore wind projects under development in Scotland.
"Securing an offshore energy provider of Shell's calibre, especially given their success in Crown Estate Scotland's Scotwind leasing for a possible gross 5GW of floating wind, as a keynote speaker is an exciting development for the UK Renewables Academy, said UK Renewables Director, Liam McIvor. Shell's module on floating offshore wind will be an important talk for many of our delegates, as they explore new projects across the offshore wind industry. We look forward to welcoming a Shell representative to Teesside University in September."
The course has been specifically designed and developed alongside leading industry professionals to give participants an understanding to every area of the sector. The course is also applicable to those who are experienced in one particular area and want to have a better understanding of the wider industry.
